My versatile background as a self-taught Finance and Data Analyst, Certified Moving Consultant, Artist, and Creative Problem Solver led me to become a Professional Organizer and Move Manager, truly an analyst at heart!
What I did.
Coordinated moves to Australia, Canada, across the street into storage and out of storage. Created physical surveys and generated logistical and financial estimates. Moving Consultants estimate the amount of boxes, the weight of the contents being moved, the amount of men needed, what size truck or trucks, how long it will take, address any special needs and of course the cost.
It was important to educate people, so they were not in the dark about the moving process, the laws, and the great tricks that make moving easier and less expensive. It is great to be able to create a sense of ease while educating people. In 2012, I started doing for people what moving companies did not and things just grew from there. That is when I learned my love for packing! It truly is my Zen!
Every box is like a 3-dimensional puzzle. By looking in cabinets I already know what is going to be packed with what and in what size box. When doing photo inventories, I estimate what will fit and remember to include space for stuffing. That is when it gets really fun!
Naturally, my instinct is to improve the process of everything I do. Process improvement was a large part of how I became a self-taught finance and data analyst. Learning that I loved creating spreadsheets, data, and numbers gave me the opportunity to help with client's computers, bookkeeping, and document retention.
I have served on the Board of Directors, as Treasurer for the Northern New Jersey Chapter of NAPO, The National Association of Productivity and Organizing Professionals.
Services continued to be added with each additional client, fixing leaks, setting up electronics, Bluetooth, and WIFI on all the home and mobile devices.
I love getting my hands dirty with sculpture, packing boxes, and organizing but truly the part of my brain that loves spreadsheets needs exercise too!
Helping people and businesses improve the way they function and making a move less stressful is extremely rewarding for me. I am lucky enough to get to help people doing things I love to do, truly a win-win!!!
What I do.
Sculpture, metalsmithing, stained glass, fused glass, photography, drawing, painting, welded work. The photo of the rock sculpture on my home page is a sculpture I did at the base of Hemlock Falls, at South Mountain Reservation in South Orange, NJ. I call this piece "Zen Rocks". Packing is my Zen and so is playing with rocks!!! Since 1991, my art has been displayed 96 times. The Morris Museum, Soho, The East Village, Hoboken, Jersey City, and Brooklyn Art Library in their Sketchbook Project. My sketchbook now lives at the Taube Museum of Art in North Dakota.
I'd rather be packing!
